Wanyama picks two African teams that will do well in Russia

Tottenham defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama has picked the two African teams that he thinks will do well at the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The 26-year-old Kenya captain, who is currently in the country after the end of the Premier League season said Nigeria and Senegal stand a chance to make African continent proud in next month competition.

Africa will have Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt as the other three representatives, in the eagerly-awaited tournament.

Wanyama was speaking on Wednesday when he got a lucrative deal with Multichoice, where he will be the brand ambassador during the tournament.

“As the World Cup begins in June, I would encourage young and upcoming footballers to see it as an inspiration to sharpen their skills and talents in an effort to one-day represent Kenya at the World Cup.” former Celtic star said.

Despite his injury troubles season, Wanyama featured 24 times and scoring one goal in the process but he has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in recent months, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly interested in his signature.
