For most of worlds GSM cellular service providers this action is absolutely impossible. I mean that you can’t hide your number when you are sending message as number hiding for calls (CLIR feature).
Only thing you can possibly try which can help you to hide number is WEB messaging tools or VoIP tools with SMS features where you just pick a name which gonna appear in receivers phone instead of your phone number.

If you don’t have a problem with downloading the app go ahead. May compromise either your battery or slo down down your phone. The other alternative is to send a text using the computer via a free system such as http://textem.com just google how to send a text message using your computer. This method is how you can text with some bona fide email instead.

It actually is possible. Most for smart phones though. YOu can get apps on the app store/ android play store that will “Give you a new phone number.” I don’t know how they work other than getting money from adds. Just text the person throught this app though and then you can do it and they won’t know who it is.

It depends on your phone model and your operator. Some allow you to hide your number but some don’t.
For the ones that do, search up “How to hide number” online and you’ll get a code to put or a setting to turn off.

On the iPhone platform there is a setting “Start new conversations from”. This is followed by a list of your telephone numbers and email addresses. If you select an email address it looks to me that it is that address that appears in the header.
