Aerial footage, captured by TV crews, showed the horse trotting in front of the newlyweds’ open-top coach before suddenly stumbling to the left.
It then erratically moved towards a barrier separating the waving crowds on the grass from the road, as the other horses remained in line.
A police officer was forced to move out of the way to avoid the animal, as it almost stumbled backwards into the barrier he was standing next to.
But fortunately, its rider managed to quickly regain control of it, and within seconds, the horse was back in formation with the others.

Some viewers took to social media to joke about the misbehaving animal, sharing footage of the moment it strayed from the procession.
Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: “When you try to make it back home after a night out on a Friday.” Meanwhile, another posted: “When its the end of semester and you’re trying to keep it together.”
Today’s wedding was watched by millions across the world.
Meghan, dressed in a veil, diamond tiara and a sleek dress with a long train, was accompanied up the aisle by Harry’s dad, Prince Charles.
